Before you apply to Revolution, please take the time to read this information about the guild.
Guild RanksThe main ranks are as follows:
GM - Kronkin (paladin), alt - Sanato (shadow priest)
Officers - Lenin (druid). Malarik (warrior), alt - Zandolar (priest). Ozma (rogue). Icewinde (mage), alt - Riunnai (priest). Druderina (druid), alt - Penguine (mage).
Raider- People who come raiding regularly, at least 2 times a week on 25-man raids.
Social Member - people who have passed their trial period successfully. Main characters only and maybe don't make every raid.
Trial - everyone joins the guild at this rank. Various rules / limitations apply (see below)
Alt - people's alternate characters. No limit on the amount you can have in the guild - though alts shouldn't take loot away from members.
After joining the guild, you will be on trial for a minumum of 2 weeks, during which time you are expected to make an effort to attend as many raids etc as possible in order for us to assess your suitability. During the trial period, you will be unable to withdraw anything from the guild bank & will be subject to restrictions on loot (listed below). Upon promotion to Member, you will have access to the guild bank - though this is not be treated as "free stuff", rather as an exchange of items. Pay in, take out. Or just pay in.
Maturity / Respect / BehaviourThe guild mainly comprises of over 18's although there are a few younger members. Spamming guild chat with uninteresting rubbish is unlikely to make you many friends. Think about what you post and ask yourself if it contributes in any way to other members. There is a fair amount of piss-taking in guild chat - get involved but keep it friendly. We ask members to show respect for other members feelings at all times. Banter away but stop if asked. Likewise if someone is upsetting you, either tell them about it or tell an Officer.
Don't be a loot whore or drama queen - they're both dull and cause unnecessary issues amongst the guild. If you have a problem with the way things are done, then be mature about it & talk to an officer about your issue. Don't deliberately breed discontent - try and be constructive rather than destructive. WoW is a game - never forget that. Be nice to other people & they'll be nice to you. Be nasty & you'll get asked to leave the guild sooner or later.
RaidingIf you want to raid, you are expected to sign up on In game Calendar . You must be online and ready for an invite 15 minutes before the raid starts. Raiders are expected to turn up to raids fully repaired & with any consumables necessary for raiding. You should come prepared with the relevant flasks along with a minimum of 20 mana pots etc. Please do not complain about repair costs or the costs of consumables - that's what Daily Quests are for. If you cannot raid for a particular event, you sign as not attending or standby if your gonna be online but late or something.
Raid timesWe are currently attempting to do three 25 man raids per week. Weekday raids normally start @ 20.15 server time and generally last up to 3 or 3.5 hours. We also do 25-mans on a Sunday evening, generally starting @ 20.00 server time. If you are unable to stay until the end of a raid then you must inform the raid leader in advance of the raid starting and not midway through.
Raiding add-onsOmen - threat meter essential to the smooth running of raids. Like GC, some older versions are incompatible so please make sure you have 68050 or above.
BigWigs / DeadlyBossMods - raid mods which give alerts when a boss is about to kill you (or similar) Please have one or the other
VentriloWe use Ventrilo for raiding (our server details can be found in the Guild Information in-game) You do not have to speak but you must be able to listen.
Enchants / GemsAll your gear should be enchanted with the correct enchants and gemmed with the correct gems. If you are unsure what is the best gem / enchant for a slot, then go to
http://elitistjerks.com/f31/ and find the relevant thread for your class / talent build.
Theorycrafting / tacticsHelp yourself to help the guild. If a boss you haven't seen before is on the agenda, read up the tactics for it on Bosskillers.com, Wowiki.com, Tankspot.com. Don't assume that just because your pet has helped you get to level 70 that you could now get into Nihlium. Spend time reading what better players than you have written about maximising your performance at
http://elitistjerks.com/f31/ as well.
Trial member loot1) Players of Raider status get 1st rolls on loot, if no Raiders roll on the loot it breaks down as follows.
2) Trial members are not allowed to roll on loot unless no social member needs it for his character (mains + regularly played alts who take part in raids regularly)
3) If no social member needs it then the trial member is allowed to roll on the item if it will be an upgrade for their main spec gear
4) If the trialist does not need the item for their main spec gear, then the item will be trash rolled by the Raiders
5) If no Raider wants to trash roll, then the Social members are allowed to trash roll
6) If no Social members are interested in trash rolling then trialists are allowed to roll
7) If no one wants to trash roll, the item will be disenchanted
Loot quota / compulsory rollingi) Members should roll on any item which is an upgrade for their main kit - even if it is only a minor upgrade
ii) Members are entitled to roll (and win) on one item per raid night only - unless a subsequent piece of loot drops which no one else needs and will otherwise be trash rolled
iii) If a member wins a piece of loot which is only a very minor upgrade for them and there is another member of the same class for whom the item is a massive upgrade, the member is allowed to let the other member have the item in the interests of guild progression. This is strictly optional and should also not be abused in any way.
So essentially, it's Need > Trash roll and Raider > Social > Trialist
Non-regular raiders will be asked to refrain from rolling on a piece of loot that a regular raider needs. We want Revolution to progress and so there is no point in top level gear being given to someone who raids once a month. This is a slightly contentious issue but the bottom line is, if you hardly ever raid, then you shouldn't take loot away from someone who does.
Any questions, please whisper either the GM or an Officer in-game.
